Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms are a contract between you and Musical Focus Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17322522), whose registered office is at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX (“Musical Focus”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Musical Focus, you agree to them.
1. What Musical Focus is
Musical Focus is a workflow app that helps music creators organise, progress, and finish their music: projects, templates, weighted progress tracking, and related tools. It is a workflow tool — it does not host, store, or process your audio files. Links you save to audio point to third-party services you control, under their terms.
2. Who can use it
You must be 16 or older to create an account. By signing up you confirm you are at least 16. If we learn an account holder is under 16, we will close the account and delete its personal data (see our Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method (your email account) secure, and for everything done through your account.
3. Your content stays yours
Everything you create in Musical Focus — project titles, notes, lyrics, ideas, plans — is yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, display, and process that content for the purpose of providing the service to you. We claim no ownership of your music or your ideas, ever.
If you opted into the insight programme, pseudonymised workflow data (never your creative content or free text) may be included in aggregated insights, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can withdraw at any time.
4. Our content stays ours
The Musical Focus software, design, templates, level names, and branding are ours (or our licensors'). You may not copy, resell, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, except where law permits.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Paid plans are sold through Paddle, our merchant of record. This means Paddle is the sellerof the subscription: your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal), and Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, and applicable taxes.
- Prices, billing periods (monthly or annual), and what each plan includes are shown at checkout and on the plan-selection screen in your account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then.
- Founder pricing: if you subscribed on a founding-member price, that price is locked for as long as your subscription remains active. If it lapses and you resubscribe later, the then-current standard price applies.
- We may change prices for new billing periods with reasonable advance notice; price changes never apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.
6. Refunds and cooling-off
Founder subscriptions include a 30-day satisfaction guarantee: if Musical Focus isn't for you, contact us within 30 days of first payment for a full refund.
As a consumer you may also have a statutory 14-day cancellation right for digital services; where you have asked for immediate access to the service, you acknowledge this may affect that right as permitted by law. Refunds are processed by Paddle as merchant of record. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Musical Focus to break the law, infringe others' rights, attempt to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, or abuse systems designed for fair use (for example, deliberately gaming progress or XP mechanics, or abusing the public audit endpoint). We may suspend or close accounts that do.
8. Service availability and changes
We work hard to keep Musical Focus available and improving, but we provide it “as is”: we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change, or remove features; if we make a change that materially reduces a paid plan's core functionality, we'll give you reasonable notice and you may cancel.
Back up anything critical: Musical Focus is a workflow tracker, not an archive of record for your creative work.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control; and our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Musical Focus supports your creative process; decisions about your music, releases, and career are yours.
10. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time in your settings — deletion is self-serve and covered in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms; where practical we'll warn you first. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content ownership, liability, governing law) survive termination.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and law evolve. For material changes we'll give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there, and nothing here removes protections you're entitled to as a consumer in your country of residence.
